I am nice (most of the time) and easy going person who likes to sleep a lot. I spend most of my free time on my pc or watching TV. I also enjoy writing and reading poetry. I hate 99% of everything however the few things I don’t hate, I love very, very much.

I have grown tired of maintaining all of the excessive lists of Dimitri’s Blog so I have deleted most pages and replaced many with simple descriptions. I will also be changing the color scheme and layout soon.
Today I got a new laptop pc. It is a Toshiba NB205. I got it as something small, mobile, with a long battery life that I could take to school or wherever I need to do work.
It has an Atom N280 1.66Ghz dual-core processor, 1Gb RAM (2Gb max), 140Gb HDD, and an Intel GA 950 128Mb.
The NB205 is extremely light and mobile. It weighs less then 3lbs. As expected, the light weight does mean small screen, 10.1”. Also, the battery lasts several hours before dieing.
Overall I am very happy with the computer. It is ideal for anyone seeking something to do mediocre school work with.
Today I had a most interesting discussion about religion with what might possibly have been the most arrogant people on the planet.
It was your basic religious debate until we got onto the subject of Heaven. I stated that one person’s Heaven might be another’s Hell. To support this I gave an example of being in love with someone who hates you. In order for it to be your Heaven then you’d be with the girl you love but in order for it to be her Heaven she would not be with you. So both could not exist in Heaven.
Then they said quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever heard, which is why I am posting. They said that Heaven is God’s idea of the perfect place and if you believe in God then you will simple accept Heaven as perfect.
That just pissed me off. So basically in order to exist in Heaven you can’t have any free will. If there is a god and a heaven and hell, I’d rather be in Hell because at least then I’d have free will, be able to choose weather of not to scream.
Something else interesting that I learned today; you can’t alter a religious person’s opinion simple by stating evidence to disprove it. They will simply ignore it in favor of blind faith. Instead you need to point out the contradictions of their faith.
I am proud to say that I went to see Star Trek on the first day of its release. Anyway, to get to the point...
Star Trek was pretty good. Compared to other sci-fi films it was great, especially when compared to the other Star Trek films. (I have no delusions about it; the other Star Treks sucked) This movie is not in anyway unique. It is your basic, Earth is in danger and needs to be saved film. That been said, it was really entertaining for me. I was a little annoyed that Simon Pegg did not have a bigger part though.
Any sci-fi fan will enjoy this film. Although some hardcore trekies might be ticked off about how much cannon was thrown out for this film but to be honest, who cares? Main stream Star Trek is not that good anyway. And besides this movie is not even considered to be cannon. It is just a really expensive fan film.
I'm not really sure what else to say. The movie was good. Don't say no to it just because other Star Trek sucked, give it a shot.
Elfen Lied is about a, for lack of a better term, new species of human (yeah I know; an oxymoron) called Diclonius. It stars a 18 year old Diclonius who after a life of torment wants to destroy humanity. However in the first episode she develops an alternate personality that is basically a retarded five-year-old. It is actually kind of funny watching when she switches form dim-wit to genocidal and sadistic.
Also, I would like to note that the show has extensive nudity. At times it is actually borderline hentai, but assuming you can get past that it really isn't that bad.
Anyway... the series can be funny at times and at other times pretty bad-ass. Still though, I only recommend watching it if you have free time, it is not exceptionally good but worth it if you have some time to kill.
Movies/Television: Requiem For A Dream (2000) May 3, 2009 2012
Requiem For A Dream is one of the most touching movies I’ve ever seen. It shows the lives of four people, Harry (Jared Leto), a young junky trying to make a better life for himself and his girlfriend, Marion (Jennifer Connelly), Harry’s girlfriend, Tyrone (Marlon Wayans), Harry’s best friend, and Sara (Ellen Burstyn), Harry’s mother. Throughout the movie each of them begins slipping away into darkness and despair due to various forms of addiction.
In the words of Wikipedia, “The film depicts different forms of addiction, leading to the characters’ imprisonment in a dream world of delusion and reckless desperation that is subsequently overtaken and devastated by reality.”
This movie is more then just a movie, it is art.
This is the first movie in a long time to make me cry. (in the past it really was not that hard to make me cry)
