My Eberron Campaign

Wir (Day 4), Week 1, Rhaan, 998 YK

Gem, a human sorceress, met a warforged artificer in a shop while looking for spell components. Not having enough money for what she needed, the warforged paid for her. She nicknamed him Bender, realizing that he didn't have a name himself. After discovering that both of them were new to Sharn and out to make names for themselves, they decided to look for adventures together.

The duo found out from a bum that Morgrave University sets explorers out in Xen'drik. They attempted to get Letters of Marque allowing them access to Xen'drik, but the university told them they needed to get identification papers. An hour later and the duo was back with their papers after having talked a police officer into writing them up, however, now they found out that they needed 1000 gp between the two of them to get their Letters of Marque.

Discouraged, they set off to find dinner for Gem. They went to the upper wards of Menthis Plateau and bought a dinner of fruits. While Gem was eating, they noticed a warforged turn down a dark alley. Curious, Bender and Gem investigated. They found the body of a human, severely hurt, under a large cloak. Another human, who introduced himself as Rogen, ran up to help as well. Just before they picked up the hurt man to bring him to safety, the warforged appeared, telling the group that he couldn't let them get away with that.

Bender was quickly disabled by the warforged, but Gem and Rogen hurt him badly. He stepped back onto a transport of some sort, flying away, but not before telling the group not to get in the way of the bloodline. Gem and Rogen found a healer for the human and for Bender.

The human's name was Takin Mygrad, and he was an elected member of the Breland parliament. At first Takin couldn't figure out why he would be attacked, but upon learning what the warforged said, something clicked into place. Lately he had been pushing for an increase in funds to the city watch so they could investigate the Blood of Vol in Sharn. The Blood of Vol, he explained, was a religion dealing with blood, heredity, and the worship of ancestors. However, deeper in the cult it's about death, the undead, and in all actuality, Vol, a half-elf, half-dragon, bred for immense more, and now a great lich, the last to ever have the Mark of Death.

Takin, Gem, Bender, and Rogen gave statements at the local police department. An officer asked them to stay in the city and check back in a couple days. Takin took the three to an inn he knew in the upper wards of the Menthis Plateau, the Windsong. Owned and operated by a good friend of his, Gar, he knew that the trio could get free room and board for a small time there. He asked them if they'd help him find out what's going on and at least stay near the inn for a few days. They all agreed, and Takin gave each 50 gp.

That night, Gem dreamt of something in the water... a river... a dagger. Bender awoke from terrible, painful nightmares, but without any physical memories of them.

Zor (Day 5), Week 1, Rhaan, 998 YK

Gem went out on her own to check in with the police. She learned that the officer's superiors coudn't spare much to work on the murder case because of goblin problem in the Cogs. A group of goblins was breaking into the city from below and killing citizens. Gem got permission to go fight them, and then went off to buy weapons. At a store she met Dimitri Nightbreeze, a half-elf ranger. She got him a pass too, and together they went down to the cogs.

Gem and Dimitri found directions from a miner to the place the goblins were coming through. They ventured into the caverns and found themselves in an underground maze. They killed many goblins before finding a goblin that ran away, asking to be spared. Gem and Dimitri followed him and found that he was named R'irk. R'irk claimed that he was part of what seemed to be a goblin military. He was under orders to attack the humans because they stole goblin land, building Sharn and goblin ruins. Dimitri apologized, saying that he wouldn't have stolen land if it has been in his time. Gem explained that he was welcome in Sharn if he wasn't aggressive. R'irk calmed down, but didn't give in completely. Gem and Dimitri tried to convince him to talk to his superiors, but he seemed scared to do so. Gem and Bender weren't sure what to believe so they worked their way out of the maze to go home after collecting a few weapons and money off the corpses of their victimes.

On the way home, they stopped by the police department. The officer there thought it was odd that while his superiors said they couldn't spare anyone from the goblin case for the attempted murder, Gem and Bender didn't run into a single patrolman at all. The two weren't sure what to believe now so they went back to the Windsong for a night's stay. Dimitri left to sell his weapons, coming back late. Gem studied the way of the rogue before going to sleep, where she dreamt about something in a cave.

Sul (Day 1), Week 2, Rhaan, 998 YK

Gem and Bender ventured to the docks, following Gem's dreams. There they learned of the Mud Caves, a place where the water washes right up onto land. They looked there and found a little boy who claimed undead walked around at night. Entering a cave, they found that the little boy was right - there were undead. There was also a ranger tied up in the cave, held captive by zombies and skeletons. After rescuing him, the three went home to rest.

Zol (Day 3), Week 2, Rhaan, 998 YK

A police officer came into the Wind Song asking if Gem or Bender made any progress on the attempted murder case. After learning that they hadn't, he told them that it was probably just a mugging, not to worry about it, and that the case was being dismissed. After he left, Gem, Bender, and Rogen went back to the cave filled with undead.

After a while, Loki showed up in the caves to help, but Rogen decided to go back to the Windsong in case Mygrad came back to talk to them. Gem, Bender, and Loki killed many skeletons and zombies before coming to a room with skeletons, zombies, two ghouls, and a ghast. Staying in the entryway to the room, they fought the monsters two at a time. The stench of the ghast nauseated Loki, but he continued to fight. Luckily, Bender was immune and Gem out of range of the ghast's stench. Sadly, the ghast's paralyzing touch hit Loki. Bender, being immune to that too, stayed in the front of and pulled Loki's paralyzed body back. However, he wasn't immune to getting hurt and received enough damage to cease normal functioning. Gem, being in the back, ran out of the cave in search for help. She found a warforged fighter named Champ and a human ranger named Grumbles. They went in with her to save her friends if they were still alive or avenge their deaths if they were not. They made it back to the room with the ghasts and killed all the monsters, but sadly Loki and Bender did not survive. Being too tired to finish clearing out the dungeon, they returned home to sleep.

Wir (Day 4), Week 2, Rhaan, 998 YK

Not wanting to face the dungeon again, Gem decided to go with Dimitri back to the Cogs. They encountered four hobgoblins. They would have been killed had it not been for the javelin that R'irk threw through the chest of the leader of the hobgoblins. He was able to defeat the hobgoblins but at the cost of his two goblin companions. Before having a minute to talk to Gem and Dimitri, a large number of goblins stormed in calling R'irk a traitor, causing R'irk to flee with Gem and Dimitri.

Zor (Day 5), Week 2, Rhaan, 998 YK

Gem, Champ, and Grumbles finished off the rest of the undead. After heading back to the tavern, they were met by a messenger from Takin Mygrad. He asked the trio to find proof that one of the police officers was corrupt. They accepted and went to the police station to question the police. After determining who they thought was the culprit, they followed him home. His name was Karn Vanil. They decided to wait until the next day while Karn was at work to break into his house. That night, however, Gem invited Gar, the tavern owner, back to her place for some fun.

Far (Day 6), Week 2, Rhaan, 998 YK

While Karn was at work, Gem, Champ, and Grumbles broke into his house. Along with a mighty composite long bow, universal solvent, 30 gold, a bag of dice, and some ink, they found a note to Karn from Shar asking him to stop some people from asking questions at all costs because it was "good for the church." The trio went to House Sivis to leave a message for Takin Mygrad.
