Petros, Andy Gray's Forgotten Realms CampaignPetros grew up in the city of Waterdeep. Being half Sun Elf and living in such a diverse city helped him to become comfortable with many different peoples. He was always interested in the church due to its spiritual aspect but more the help it gave its followers and communities. When he was old enough, he joined the church of Lathander as a Paladin, risking his own life to help others in the name of goodness and his god. A young Mystra bard named Vestel came through Waterdeep. After meeting her at an inn, Petros found that she was half Moon Elf and was travelling south from Silverymoon in an attempt to see more of the world and benefit herself. They became friends during her stay. Not wanting her to be alone, and wanting to see more of the world himself, he decided to go with her farther down the Sword Coast. Petros and Vestel got off the ship they travelled on in Candlekeep. They were sad to learn that they didn't have any books of value to be let into the great library itself. They did, however, meet a Tiefling mage named Kalis who let them stay with him while in Candlekeep. Petros was a little skeptical about befriending a Tiefling, but he detected no evil in him. After learning of Petros and Vestel's plans, Kalis decided to venture farther south with them. The trio's next stop was in Athkatla in Amn. There the church of Lathander brought Petros a note summoning him to the church. The three, along with an elven druid they met named Chen, proceeded to the church. There they found out that a cult had been attacking the priests. Petros and his party set out to the cult's stronghold to stop the attacks permanently. After defeating many of the cultists in battle, they found a ranger tied up. They rescued him and found his name to be Zomge. Sadly, in an explosion, Zomge and Chen were knocked out. The explosion was from a human Monk of Lathander, Evendur and an Aasimar cleric of Selune who were attempting to break into the stronghold, also to defeat the cult. The two groups joined forces and slew the cult's leader, Erok. The remaining cultists suddenly found themselves confused, apparently under magical control from Erok. With Erok's death, the party found a stone which Erok was speaking to using Abyssal. Farther in the keep, a pentagram was found on the floor along with four skeletons that rose for battle. They were defeated, and Petros and his companions stepped into the pentragram with the stone. The five were teleported to a bizarre place where they were attacked by a Lich, apparently weaked, for hitting his pot. Upon defeating him rather easily, his soul entered the pot itself, which the party then smashed. The soul came out and, before dissapearing entirely, taunted the party, revealing that he was a member of a group that was after as much power as they could achieve. This group believed that such power could be found in Candlekeep, and for this reason the organization was already leading an army of undead from the north, marching south towards Candlekeep. Shortly after their talk, all signs of the Lich dissapeared, and the party found a portal leading out. Finding themselves outside the city gates of Athkatla, they ventured back to the church of Lathander. There Petros received new orders from High Priest Muran to travel to a near by farming community in an effort to recruit people to fight against the undead army. He also found out that he'd be under command of a man named Melthas. After Chen and Petros saved a woman and child from a burning building, more and more people began to sign up. Sadly, Zomge, Kalis, and the Aasimar spent most of the day in a bar drinking. Zomge was so crazy the next day that he was thrown in jail for getting into bar fights. The others met a woman who claimed she lost her children. They found the kids in a cave with a half-orc who was protecting them. The children were scared of their parents, so the group brought them to the church. The half-orc was a barbarian and agreed to join Petros and his companions. Then, as payment to the police to get Zomge out of jail, they fought bandits who were coming to raid a farm. |
