Linh-Nam mentioned liking Aishiteru ze Baby so I decided to watch some of it myself. Only nine episodes have been released that I know of, and I’ve seen the first five. It’s about a girl named Yuzuyu-chan. Her father died, causing her mother to become depressed and to abandon her. Yuzuyu-chan is left with family, and her cousin Kippei is instructed to watch her. Kippei is a high school student and a bit of a playboy, primarily concerned with flirting and dating. His life is changed when he finds himself truly caring about Yuzuyu-chan.
This series is incredibly cute. It’s a little unbelievable that they’d allow a high school student to watch Yuzuyu-chan though. He’s not just babysitting her; he’s basically parenting her. Yuzuyu-chan is incredibly cute (though she can’t compare to my cousin, of course). I’ve read that her voice-actress is nine years old. If true, that adds to the realism. I need to see more >_>

UCI
My dad took me down to UCI today to turn in my housing contract and payment. It’s a very nice, attractive campus. I liked the looks of the students there too. We checked out Mesa Court and Middle Earth. I didn’t get to look at any three person dorm rooms, but people let me look at their two person rooms. They seemed nice. The rooms and the people did, lol. Middle Earth seemed nicer to me and closer to more of the campus. So, Jaysen and Antonio, if you read this before I talk to you guys, we should change to Middle Earth. And Jaysen, because Antonio and I were nice enough to let you in, I think I should get the bottom bed. Yep. We ate lunch at a dining hall in Middle Earth, and it was tasty and all-you-can-eat. Yes, so… yay, I’m happy ^_^

Alex’s Party / Achala’s Party
Dev and I arrived late, but at least we arrived. There was a tasty dinner of ribs, baked potatoes, and salad. It was fun just hanging out with a couple friends. Chris Gaydosh seemed interested in computers. I think that’s why he’s stared at me previously. Everytime he was doing that, I was with a computer. Some people went swimming while I watched and talked with Andrew. I enjoyed talking with him. He seems like a cool guy, and I like that he was pretty mellow.
After the party was basically over, Dev, Alex, and I hung out in Alex’s room. We listened to music and watched weird videos. I sang Stairway to Heaven, reversed it, and found that it did contain Satanic messages. However, when I flipped the real song, I did hear the Satanic verse. I fooled around with reversing some other songs, too. Fun stuff.
There, happy Dev?
Achala’s party was a lot of fun. Alex and I bought Achala “Airplane” and “Catch Me If You Can.” The food was good, although when I ate too much of the spicy food, my eyes started to water. People that attended include Alex, David, Joseph, Herbert, Roda, Shirin, Susan, Bhavna, Arvin, Elieth, Kim, Jorge, other Alex, and other assorted people I can’t remember now. There was a lot of dancing, but I spent the evening outside talking to people, taking pictures, and having pictures taken of me. By the way, I’d like pictures of the evening. If you took any and would like to share, please let me know. It was a good night for hugs, too. Girls are soft and nice ^^
Happy birthday Achala!
That is all.

Graduation & Grad Nite
I can’t believe high school is over. I’m so happy yet so sad. CAMS and specifically the Class of 2004 were great. I’ll miss everyone so much. I can’t think of a seque from the introduction into the actual review so I’ll just start. Orchestra was horrible. I think that if the CAMS orchestra is unable to perform well, which is the case, then a band should be hired or live music should not be used. Chorus wasn’t great but was okay. It was at least made up of seniors so even if they were horrible too, I’d be more okay with them performing. The speakers who weren’t CAMS students weren’t very good. They simply talked about themselves. Some high-ranking official from LBUSD gave a nice speech about how she was poor and black. I don’t care if she was poor and black but isn’t now. After everyone said the Pledge of Allegiance, Jasmine sang the national anthem. I know I’ve said it before, but wow. She has such a beautiful voice and sings amazingly. I wish I knew the words to be more descriptive. I’ve never had the national anthem stuck in my head before.
Shirin was the first CAMS student to give a speech. It sounded pretty weird because she was trying very hard to pronounce things correctly. Her speech centered around the Titans and unity within the class. I really get tired of hearing that crap. I love the Class of 2004, and I associate with the Class of 2004. However, I don’t associate with the word “titan.” It’s just some stupid mascot. I will never think of myself as a “titan,” only as a member of the Class of 2004.
Kimberly gave the second speech. I can’t remember specifics about it, but I remember that I enjoyed it. It seemed natural and didn’t piss me off. Not pissing me off is always a plus in my mind. Calvin gave the third speech. It was about black people, equality, etc. My family complained about it later. Moving on.
I didn’t like having to stop on stage. I didn’t know what to do. I just sort of stopped and looked confused. Shaking hands with Clark was interesting. It was a little awkward, and I pretended to be horrified by it later. It was nice to be able to shake her hand and graduate though.
CAMS didn’t make major fuck ups though. Good for us/them. When walking in, I didn’t notice my family until they called out to me after I walked past them. I did notice Cheryl’s dad right away though, who said hello to me, and I waved to him. Barnes was controlling stage traffic by telling people when to go. Alex said that he wants to meet with us later (tomorrow possibly) for lunch. Yay. When filing out, I saw Nick’s mom. I didn’t recognize her at first but said hello and apologized to her for not recognizing her later. I said hello to Hanah’s family and hugged Avi. Speaking of hugs, I like them. I also hugged Brooke, Cheryl, Gian, Gemma, and got assorted other hugs and kisses while keeping myself composed. I guess I only breakdown when I’m alone.
It pissed me off that Disneyland had to frisk everyone, but I suppose it was for our own safety. I had a shitload of stuff on me as always, but everything went smoothly. The attractions there really do suck though. They’d be alright if the lines were much shorter. I spent most of the evening with Alex, Darnell, and Shaun. I would have preferred to spend with other people as well. I don’t mean to say I didn’t enjoy spending time with this group. I was just hoping that I’d get to spend time with people whom I didn’t think I’d see often this summer.
We spent a lot of time just listening to music. Disneyland’s sound system is fucking amazing. I love music. Sadly, most of the park was playing hip-hop. There are a few hip-hop songs I like but not many. Club Buzz had a live band playing named Toe Head. They were pretty good but rather pop-rockish. I’m not good with genres so I have difficulty describing this. I’d like to say that I didn’t like how “mainstream” they sounded, but it seems weird that I wouldn’t like something just for being mainstream. I guess it’s just that I don’t like what happens to be considered mainstream. Anyways, when the band wasn’t playing, they played trance/techno. Basically, they crippled good songs. I almost heard Sweet Child of Mine, but they “effed that shit up.” I slept a little during the techno.
The four of us went to the wrong parking lot and spent a lot of time there searching for the busses. We thought we were late when we arrived at the correct parking lot. Luckily for us, the busses were late as well. Unluckily for us, they ended up being an hour late. Everyone ended up sitting on the ground in the parking lot half asleep or in some cases, fully asleep. When we finally got back to CAMS, I didn’t really notice any emotional good-byes. Everyone was probably too tired.
And so end CAMS. <3 T_T
Drama Thing
I’m glad Hanah and Jasmine told me about this event, because it was very enjoyable. If they hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known about it. There might have been and probably were announcements, but I didn’t hear them. Anyways, I promised Hanah that I’d go easy, and Jasmine wanted to make sure I know that it was put together in a week. There were a few performances that weren’t very good, but a lot that were.
Erin’s keyboard playing wasn’t great, but it was nice, and I’m glad she performed. There was a “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” skit that did not show great skill but was very funny nonetheless. There were probably a lot more, but I’m having a hard time remembering the performances now. Three performances do stand out in my mind.
The first is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This was a musical, and I enjoyed it very much. Jasmine performed beautifully as always, although her character’s name escapes me. I actually wonder if she was hurt at all when thrown to the ground, because it looked very realistic. Mike Iinuma also performed very well. He’s one of the few drama members whom I don’t know but look forward to seeing perform. Plus, he’s pretty good-looking. You know I’m not the only straight guy to think so.
Jan Reside played a song on an acoustic guitar and sang. I can’t remember the song, and I guess there isn’t much to say about his performance. However, I thought he was really good.
The third performance was Ryan and Christina. I don’t know the name of what they were performing, but they sang about killing people, cooking the victims, and selling/eating them. It was a sort of morbid topic but very funny. They both did well.
And I know I said three stuck out, but I’m going to mention one more because, well, I just remembered it. The sunburned Hanah sang near the end. She’s a beautiful singer, and her singing to herself after the performance was even nice.
Sorry I didn’t use more names. That’s what happens when I’m not given a program! Thank you CAMS Drama for everything you’ve given to me. Good luck to its current senior members in college, and good luck current underclassmen (although I don’t think any of them are WebPageless readers) in future years of drama at CAMS.
Old Layout
Brought the old layout back.
New layout was crap.
The Day After Tomorrow
The Day After Tomorrow was a good movie. I don’t see good movies very often anymore. Global warming causes ice to melt, which disrupts the North Atlantic Current, causing an ice age. It’s interesting that it’s a real theory. There were flaws in the movie, as there always are, but overall, it was very good. The girl in the movie was quite beautiful but believably so. America is eventually evacuated, with the US citizens running to Mexico. Mexico opens her borders only after the President agrees to forgive all Latin American debt. Amusing. It’s sad, but if Americans all went to Mexico and the US was completely uninhabitable, the US nation would be guests in Mexico. The US would take it. Poor Mexico. Great movie. Go see it.
Mean Girls
Mean Girls was a cool, funny, stupid movie. It stars Lindsay Lohan as Cody, a sixteen year old girl who moves to the States from Africa where her parents worked as researchers. High school is a totally new experience for her, but she finds that as a hot white girl, she’s allowed to hang out with the hot white bitches (the plastics). Basically, she becomes a white bitch herself. It wasn’t a very good movie, but it was entertaining. Watching it is something to do if you’re… well… looking for something to do. Much of the movie is stupid, but it’s supposed to be. Mean Girls exaggerates high school stereotypes in order to make fun of them. Anyways, that’s it.
