The manga is similar to the series but different enough to keep me very interested. The plot makes more sense in the manga as well. By the end of the first volume, the girls of the house have just accepted him. I’ve heard that this manga is excellent and contains a huge amount of story left out of the anime. So far, that’s been true.

Midori no Hibi Anime & Manga Volume 1
After watching just Midori no Hibi episode 1, I wrote that “It’s a very strange series. Sawamura is a tough guy and a high school student who loves fighting but always defends the weak and right. He’s never had a girl friend and has asked out twenty girls, getting rejected each time. One evening, while complaining about only having his right hand as a lover, he finds than in place of a right hand he now has a girl, Midori, on his arm. She claims to have loved him for years. At first Sawamura is frightened and angry, but he warms up to her.”
I just finished watching the series, and I thought it was very good. The plot is obviously built on something rather stupid, setting the light, comedic tone of the series. The sound and music was good, and the visuals were great, especially many of the backgrounds. I’ve loved the intro since I first saw it.
Throughout the series, Sawamura gets closer and closer to Midori, but his true feelings aren’t realized until the final episode. I was pleased with the ending, however, the final scene seemed anti-climatic. What happened wasn’t, but the way it was portrayed was. I really enjoyed the series though. If you like light, comedic romances (it was more a comedic than romantic), then you shouild like this.
The first volume of the manga was also entertaining, although I like the anime much more. The chapters are very short. The sereis covered incidents much more in-depthly than the manga. Much more happened in the series as well. I’m hoping that these other incidents will be in later volumes. It seems to me that the manga will pick up after it begins to describe events that aren’t in the series. I’ll see soon.
Aishiteru ze Baby 12
Everything really does seem fixed with Yuzuyu! However, is Kokoro jealous? It appears there’s something to look forward to next week.
And Kippei’s teacher is IMAI! ZOMG! That teacher must be awesome with a name like IMAI! Okay, I’m done. This series is still great.
Midori no Hibi Days 12
The series was so good! Days 12 was a great episode with some major turning points. I hope the next episode has been released. I’ll find out today at Dev’s. The “next episode” portion at the end of Days 12 said “Last Days” and “Our Days.” I guess that means the next episode is the last. sdghsodvjhjkdslfnhskdfh I want it.
Aishiteru ze Baby 11
No spoilers.
Kippei fixes his problems with Yuzuyu-chan and Kokoro. The resolution with Kokoro might suck a little, but everything’s for the best. This episode resolves the drama that’s been happening for the last few episodes. I suppose there’ll be a new conflict next week. If not, they’ll have to revolve an old on. We’ll see next Sunday!
Cowboy Bebop The Movie
Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door is a great movie for Cowboy Bebop fans and can be used to introduce you to the series as well. It takes place after all the characters have come together, and the plot is completely self-contained. Both the animation and the music in the movie, just as in the series, is some of the best I’ve ever seen/heard. The introduction style looks like something that would be done in a live action movie, and parts of the movie do look real. The music is performed by The Seatbelts. I think the music of Cowboy Bebop is one of the major aspects that make Cowboy Bebop so great.
The plot of Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door is a little looser than most of the series. I find myself wondering if what they do in an attempt to vaccinate the population of Mars would really work and if Faye could legally get away with taking over the weather control station as a terrorist. Then again, things like that happen all the time in the series, too. Collecting bounties is kind of pointless when you have to pay so much for damages, eh? It’s a wonderful movie though, and I really recommend seeing it.
Mononoke Hime
I just got around to seeing this. It was a great movie, and I’m really impressed with Miyazaki. Everything I’ve seen by him has been superb. Mononoke Hime is about the interaction between humans and nature. The humans are destroying the forest and killing animals in their search for iron, which angers the gods, giant, powerful animals. When a being gets corrupted by hatred, it turns into a demon. After one young boy slays a demon, he too begins to turn into one and must travel far in an attempt to stop it.
The movie had a great plot, animation, and sound. I also thought that the characters were excellent. There was no “bad” guy, just a lot of beings doing what they thought was best for them. Mononoke Hime contains many interesting creatures as well, just as many other works by this director do.
Midori no Hibi
I just watched the first episode of Midori no Hibi. It’s a very strange series. At first Sawamura is frightened and angry, but he warms up to her.
Obviously, the show is comedic. It also seems like there’s going to be some romance between Sawamura and Midori, but I really hope not. Midori no Hibi might not be excellent, but it’s cute and very funny.
Inuyasha 2
Now they’re going after shards of Shikon no Tama.
I’m still not happy with the series.
Aishiteru ze Baby 10 -SPOILERS-
What the hell?
First, Kippei kisses Kokoro, which I like. But then he starts feeling her up. I think it’s a little soon for that, especially at school. Then, when asked if she loves Kippei, Kokoro responds, “not at all.” What kind of answer is that? Maybe it’s not love, but she doesn’t have to be so blunt about it. With being late to pick Yuzuyu and sleeping in, forgetting to make her lunch, Yuzuyu realizes that she’s in Kippei’s way and that Kippei wants to be with Kokoro, so she decides to walk home on her own. Poor Kippei’s just hurt and confused by Kokoro and trying to fix things with Yuzuyu.
And Matthew, of Matthew’s Anime Blog, was right in his entry last week about Marika-chan being jealous. God was she jealous, and she’s only five!
I still really like this show. I hope Kippei fixes thing with Yuzuyu-chan soon though. The drama of the Kokoro sub-plot is good and adds to the show, but there’s still a part of me that just wants Kippei to be happy with her ^^;
