On Saturday, my dad picked up Linh-Nam and took us to Carberry’s house. I sent Carberry all of my music, and Linh-Nam installed Doom 3. I played Doom 1 while Nam played Doom 3. I couldn’t play it while transferring all those files, lol. Linh-Nam’s laptop… it doesn’t render the light correctly. The static lights work fine, including those that flicker. The “solid” light at the tip of the flashlight works. By solid lights, I mean the light that appears as solid white. But the light that actually comes out of the flashlight doesn’t work. In other words, nothing gets illuminated. I know my terminology isn’t very good. Go IM Chris if you need the correct terms, because I’m sure he knows them. Anyways, I think this’ll make playing D3 very difficult for Linh-Nam.
On the way home from Carberry’s, my dad and I were driving in the slow lane of the freeway. Someone to the right of us on the shoulder was driving. But he was driving in the wrong direction. It was interesting. There was a bike behind us, too. That must be a little scary. I looked back and the car drove past him going the wrong way, and they were pretty close.
Yesterday, Sunday, I woke up at 12:30 because my mom came to get James. I said “hi” and whatnot and then went back to my room. I played a game or two of UT2004 and watched Chobits. Man… I finished it… good series. Very good. I’ll write a review sometime. Not now. I went back to sleep around 3 or 4 and woke up at 7:30 or so. Around 9:30, my dad and I went out for dinner. We went downtown but ended up just eating at a Hoff’s Hut. Very large dinner. Very tasty. I noticed right away that our waitress was very cute. Later, my dad said that she was kind of cute. That kind of surprised me. Everybody that knows me knows that I like filipina girls, but he normally only likes tall, large breasted, white chicks. Anyways, we got back around midnight. Okay, I guess that’s all.

Orientation
I got a good hour and a half of sleep before orientation. Jaysen picked me up and we listened to Frou Frou on the way to UCI. Breakfast sucked. Just lots of breads. We then went to a large room where we were barely able to hear a couple speakers. They did give an overview of enrolling, which I think was helpful. Then, we broke up into small discussion groups. We hardly discussed anything at all, but we did play some fun games. The staff was interesting. There was a cute chick with glasses that was cool, a weird guy, a skater guy, the girl who has tried girl-on-girl, lol. The games were lame but fun I guess. I just think it wasn’t that needed. After that, it was lunch time. Lunch was tasty. I got my ID card. I made sure not to smile. I don’t look good happy. I never look good, but smiling just makes me worse. While waiting for lunch time to end, I played Doom 3.
We broke into our fields of study after lunch. There was sort of a… dance off… between the leader-people of each major. Engineering so won, lol. It was funny to see. This was the most helpful part of the day especially since I got some placement test questions answered. It also seemed that the rules for the school of engineering are different than the rules given earlier. I don’t know if every school is like that or not. Some parts were kind of dumb though. “If you try hard, you will succeed. You will all succeed. But only 54% of those going into engineering will graduate. But don’t worry, you’ll do it. But half will fail. But you won’t fail don’t worry.” I don’t know what they were trying to do. By the way, the counselor was hot.
The housing tour wasn’t all that great either. I’ve seen the dorms on my own before. The racial make-up of UCI will take getting used to. It’s almost entirely whites and asians. And there were hot girls everywhere. I couldn’t point them all out to Jaysen, lol. But everything looks better in that area. The campus and surroundings is very pretty in my opinion. ^_^ With orientation out of the way, we drove around Irvine listening to No Doubt. I fell asleep on the drive back to LA county. It was amazing. I fall asleep surrounded by beauty and wake up surrounded by ugliness. Anyways, then we went and got Joseph.
The three of us ate dinner at Taco Bell and then just drove around a bit. We played Yaz – Situation (the song with the words “move out” from that classic NES GBA commercial) at max volume, throwing our heads around and banging on the car. It’s fun to be stupid in front of people. We wanted to watch Gay Niggers From Outer Space but wanted to go somewhere. We called Alex, but he’s never around (like I always say) so we went to Christine’s. I’m glad I got to see her. I’m really gonna miss her. At her house, I played Doom 3, made fun of other countries during the Olympics, and laughed a lot. Christine gave me a picture she drew and an autographed pad o.O. Once it was about 11, it was time to get going.
We played Situation again very loudly when pulling up to a red light. There was a woman in a car in the next lane but farther up trying to make a call. I slowly turned the music up. Joseph started thumping the side of the car. Jaysen started pulling the car further up. The woman looked at us and drove further up. We did too. Good times. Joseph pointed out that Jaysen’s car needs hydraulics for this kind of shit. What we need is to get a bunch of the same car, all blaring the same strange techno-ish 80s music, all with hydraulics. Yes. We so need that.

Galleria & Alyssa’s
Yesterday, Chris picked me up, then Alyssa, and then we went to the Galleria. Alyssa tried to direct us, but sent us to the wrong mall. Then, Alyssa’s friend, Jennifer, wanted to go so Chris picked her up too. We got to the mall and walked in next to the Forever 21 so we stopped in to talk to Jennifer Damm (too many Jennifers). We then went to the food court where we tested Chris’s wi-fi and just hung out. I played some games and watched Scrubs. And Chris bought me a hamburger! He wanted to wait to bid on a backpack so the girls left us in the food court. A few people complimented me on my laptop, and I saw one guy who complimented me last week. We ran into Herbert, Hanah, and Sam there, too. Herb tried to help me get MT working, but we couldn’t do it. Eventually, they took off, and we did soon after after saying good bye to Good Jennifer.
While getting in the car, I got to know Bad Jennifer a little better. She believes all cussing is bad. She’s a ignorant, loyal Catholic. It’s not really her fault, and I don’t mean to put her down. She tries to be very… good and Catholic but messes up. Anyways, we ended up talking about masturbation and pornography. Good times. Chris dropped her off at her Aunt’s house about a block from Herbert’s house, and then we went to Alyssa’s house. We watched Riding in Cars with Boys. The room was pretty full with Chris, Amanda, Mike (Amanda’s boyfriend), Alyssa, Russell (Alyssa’s boyfriend), Alyson, Andrew (their brother), and myself. It was a good movie, I thought, and I enjoyed hanging out with most of them.
We started to leave but ended up watching Alyssa dance in the street. She’s a lot of fun. Then, there were lots of hugs. Finally, we made it out of there, and Chris and I went to Taco Bell. We ate it at home around midnight because the restaurant was closed. I’m full now ^_^
I don’t know about this trip. We’d be cutting it close, and I’d be missing out on saying goodbye to a lot of people. We’ll see. And I don’t know if I’m going bowling today because Jaysen wasn’t online. And… San Diego Thursday? Okay, bye.
Beggar
I made a comment in taiji’s journal that I wanted to paste here.
“This dirty looking guy (might be homeless but… might not be) was asking for money today while I was in the parking lot waiting for my dad at the super market. He came to the car and asked for a quarter so I gave him a dollar. He thanked me politely and told me that he can eat today. Then he told me that he had said “hey, brother” to a guy before me and the guy replied to him “I’m not your fucking brother.” Then he pointed out to me a girl in the parking lot with nice breasts before finally telling me a story of a sexual encounter he once had with a black woman.
“That’s why the bums in Long Beach are better than SF bums. They’re not so depressing.”
The Specials
I saw the last 3/4 of a retarded movie called The Specials on TV today. The Specials is a group of superheroes who are more concerned with themselves and money than saving people. A lot of internal drama occurs, the group breaks apart, and each of the members has to figure out what he or she wants to do now. It’s very funny but in a bit of a dry way. I don’t think I’d ever pay good money for it, but I’d like to get a copy of it. If you ever see it on TV, try it out.
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
Two stoners, one a Korean investment banker and the other an Indian (like… from India…) med-student, crave White Castle and attempt to get there. But they have a hell of a lot of trouble. Yet another stupid comedy, and a very funny one at that. I think this was much better than Anchorman. They meet a man named “Freak Show,” almost score with a few different women, ride a cheetah, and do a lot of other crazy shit. The movie also plays on many, many racial stereotypes. A great movie.
Of course, no one else will see the greatest part of the movie. During a medical scene, Herbert leaned so far forward that I thought he was going to leap into the next row. It was amazing. I know he wants to be a doctor but… fuck… it’s Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.”
Oh, and Kumar kept making me think of Dev.
Definitely worth ticket price.
Get Together Goodness 2
Please read the previous post before this one if you have not done so already.
Herbert eventually got to the Galleria but didn’t know where to park and couldn’t figure out how to get inside. Then he couldn’t figure out where the food court was.
Incompetent.
We ate in the food court, and Jason ran into some of his friends. They seemed like alright guys. After watching Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, we went to Hanah’s house. It was fun. We worked on her wi-fi while we there. Hanah’s using an altered version of my photograph, “The Academy” as her wallpaper. And Kamal’s using “Motherly @ CAMS Fest” as his icon on MySpace. ^_^
Get Together Goodness
First, Jaysen almost hit a bicycle rider while turning right. It was fucking great. He almost got 10 points. Almost. I tried to wave in an apologetic sort of way, but I think it just came off as a “fuck you” wave, you know? el oh elz. And then Jaysen, Joseph, and I saw Mr. Jett when he pulled up next to us. Mr. Jett is the sexiest Jett I know. tru.dat. And I didn’t realize until after we pulled away that Joseph was wearing his bandana. Good times.
Okay, and I almost forgot. We saw this old lady next to us at a stop light. I wanted to do something funny to her but couldn’t decide what so I eventually just started spasming and making noises. I’m hoping I didn’t give her a heart attack.
We got here, found Carberry, and waited for Herbert. Eventually he called Jaysen, and I took the phone. Herbert was sleeping. He had a headache and decided to take a nap. It’s so… expected of him. We decided to change the time to 7:40 because he wouldn’t be able to make it in time. He calls back about twenty minutes later to inform us that his mom said he’s not allowed to go to the Galleria and that we have to go to Lakewood. I told him to tell his mom okay and just come to the Galleria. That was about a half hour or so ago, and he should be here by now. He isn’t. Typical. LAX, perhaps?
Overcoming Incompetency
I really think that “overcoming incompetency” should be the motto of the World Nation, but the Supreme Commander doesn’t agree.
Anyways, I put up a “Favorites” album in the art section.
